The Manic Pixie Dream Character of the series. [x.]

Suo is fun, quirky, supportive and wholly unserious (until he's Very Serious). His only goal: helping others to become the best possible version of themselves.

At least, that's what he'll have you believe.
He keeps a wall up between himself and everyone else, deflecting any evidence of doing so by speed running a certain level of intimacy with (and concern for) people that he doesn't even know yet. Pulling reactions from total strangers with little effort, Suo is a jokester. He's quick to tease and put the spotlight on others, but he absolutely does not wish to be perceived in any real meaningful way, himself.
OUT OF CHARACTER
permissions:
Tagging Style: No preference for past or present tense I'll match, but Prose preferred*!

While I will tag in brackets if asked, threads will be slower and have a higher chance of being dropped because brackets do not play well with my vision and migraines! If you have no strong preference please try to tag me with prose. If you can not tag in prose for some reason, I find it helps if the text is all one size, whether default or small text. Up to discussing, please let me know your preferences so that I can make a note for future threading with you.

*This does not seem to be an issue with very short ecats style tagging.
Tagging Schedule/Timezone: I do not live in a single time zone, because I travel! EST/CST, depending.

My schedule is unpredictable but I'm likely to be more available for tagging mid-week (Tues-Thur). Sometimes it's Mon-Thur, sometimes Tue-Fri, subject to external forces. I do focus more on light/easy/network style threads like TFLN during the weekend, and I'm typically more consistent throughout the American school year vs summer.
Tagging Speed: I am a fairly slow tagger in general right now, but my speed varies from one week to the next and depending on other factors. I am extremely backtag friendly, so if you'd like to wrap or move on from a thread let me know. Similarly, if you want to continue anything I seem to have dropped, I'm happy to return to it.
Boomeranging: Normally, I can't boomerang unless your style leans ecats (and I tend to default to longer/meatier tags overall, myself).
Backtagging: Yes, I will backtag forever, it is never too late to tag me back. Tag sitting for weeks or even months? Reply any time! I have PSLs running where one or the other of us stopped responding completely before picking up again. You don't need to give me a heads up OOC, but I'm not opposed to someone checking in if they prefer.

That said, if you don't backtag past a certain point, please let me know. If - for any reason - we can't continue, I'm open to discuss what occurred instead. Similarly, if I've left a thread that you'd like to resume or hash out, always feel free to turn my attention back to it. Worse case scenario we can talk about a conclusion.
Threadhopping: I would prefer to avoid threadjacking unless discussed with all parties involved. The main exception to this is where threadhopping is an intended part of the initial post, ex: "replies may come from X, Y, or both." or "everyone reply to each other!"
Handwaving: 100% down to discuss handwaving the results of threads, or behind the scenes interaction between our characters. I do prefer not to operate on assumed CR without establishing things OOC first, unless otherwise stated.
CR Preferences: No preferences, I will tag anyone with few exceptions, regardless of canon, medium or if the character is original etc. Not opposed to negative CR but that does require clear communication to maintain. If you're ever uncertain just ask.
Fourthwall: Context dependent. I'm okay with meta hypotheticals where a character says something like "have you ever considered we might be fictional characters someone created?" Suo is a known troll who likes to test others, so his response to subjects of this nature may be unpredictable.

That said, a Deadpool type character known for saying things most people brush off as insane ramblings? Typically fine. A character having consumed the media and telling him that he's a fictional character? No. Anything in between those extremes, best to ask first.
CRAU: Generally fine with CRAU characters or characters who know a different version of mine.
NSFW: Discussion required.

I prefer to make sure our tagging styles align before writing anything explicit, in general. You're not going to see me tag into open NSFW bakerstreet memes, I tend to stick to locked games and muse boxes for that purpose, I will move content before playing it out in gen games or public spaces.
Off limits: Nail torture, depictions of nail removal, anything driven under nails, or detailing nail growth in that context. I will not do this with my characters and request characters experiencing this be glossed over/not brought up in threads with mine. You can mention that it happened in an ooc note for my reference, I simply can not play it out. Most other things I can handle as long as it is in a written medium where thematically appropriate and appropriate content warnings are used.
IN CHARACTER
permissions:
Physical Contact: Suo has no issue getting physical with people, in either direction. He's seen putting a hand on his classmate's shoulder and rubbing someone's back when they're stressed. He gets dragged around by Nirei and grabbed when pissing someone off without flinching. Anything more intimate like hugging might startle him, but it'll probably depend on how close the CR is, there's no real shortage of physical contact in his group so reactions will likely be mild.
Flirting/Affection: Feel free, though his reaction will definitely vary by context and CR development.
Touching/Kissing: Anything remotely intimate like hugging or kissing is probably going to be met with shock and confusion, as mentioned above. At least, initially.
Shipping: In games, I prefer to follow chemistry and let things happen organically rather than plan a ship in advance. I'm open to pretty much anything as long as all players involved are on the same page and comfortable.
Telepathic Communication: He's a baseline human with no powers, but go for it.
Mind Reading/Mental Control: Please reach out about this in advance so that we're on the same page if/when it happens. Again, powerless human with no known resistance so he wouldn't be able to stop it without some kind of interference.
Conflict: I am good with negative CR and Suo can be both annoying and condescending. As always, please reach out if you're not having fun for any reason and want to adjust the trajectory or opt out of CR entirely.
Fighting: Suo is a skilled mixed martial artist. I am not a skilled fight scene writer, but as mentioned, just hit me up to discuss if things might be heading that way.
Injury: Likely fine, as with mind reading just touch base first so everyone is on the same page as to extent. While Suo avoids injury in canon with flawless precision, it's not entirely realistic for a normal kid to keep that up outside of his element.
Death: In games with a revival mechanic, I prefer to limit deaths to serving character development or narrative purpose. Or, you know, the bit. If death is permanent, I'm more inclined to avoid it entirely as that requires dropping.
☕ PERSONALITY
On the surface, Suo appears calm and laidback with a reputation for being cold and particularly serious. Unfortunately for everyone, that's not Suo. Frankly, Suo is The Manic Pixie Dream Character of the narrative. As described in TVTropes:

Although not quite Always Female, a "Manic Pixie Dream Guy" is a much rarer concept. "Manic Pixie Dream Guys", where they exist, tend to either be young (e.g., a Kid Sidekick) or immature. If the latter, expect them to learn just as much from their cynical partner as they teach (the cynic learns to enjoy life more while the immature one learns responsibility).

He will put himself in other people's space if they catch his interest, rather than playing it cool as expected, he imposes a sort of camaraderie on total strangers until they become friends. Suo has a talent for getting information out of people and a seemingly natural ablility to manipulate his peers into doing what he wants. He studies situations, often remaining quiet and passive until a response is warranted, and he's quick to dump obligations on whoever is most suited to avoid things he'd rather not deal with altogether. He seems chill even in distressing situations, smiling and cracking jokes regardless of it being tonally inappropriate, Suo loves to tease and the mood of the room typically doesn't deter him. This does often earn him withering looks from his classmates, especially Nirei.

He refuses to open up or share with anyone, despite pushing his friends to do so, vulnerability is for other people. He's just here as support, more of a concept than a person, his goals revolve around Sakura and wishing to adopt the traits he admires in those around him rather than having any direction of his own. To be clear, this is the persona he projects, the way he wants to be seen, he makes a point of remaining a mystery whose only real agenda is helping out and improving himself using his close friends as a metric. Somehow, it works.

He has strong convictions though, he believes firmly in empathy and taking the feeling of others into account, he also demonstrates no patience for those with no interest in doing the same. His limited range of emotion and carefree facade slips when he feels that what is important to him is being threatened, shown when protecting Nirei physically, arguing for Sakura's position as a member of Bofurin, and defending the town from invaders.

In fights, he's the one to step back and let the rest handle it when given the chance, opting instead to protect noncombatants from attack and watching his friends for weak spots. When pushed, a certain rage takes over his calm demeanor but he snaps out of it with seemingly zero effort, right back to that cheerful supportive guy with so much to learn that everyone who knows him would expect to see.

☕ CANON INFORMATION
Wind Breaker is a harem anime disguised as a fighting anime, with really unconventional therapy practices. I'll have a real answer for this eventually, I promise.

☕ POWERS & ABILITIES
In summary: Unless something drastically changes in this series, Suo is a normal human teenager with no remarkable special powers. His abilities are limited to real world skills such as power of suggestion and mixed martial arts. Details on his talents will be expanded on below, but the gist is normal powerless human teen with one very aggressive kick.
Mixed Martial Arts: When asked, Suo says he doesn't know what the technique is, exactly. He was trained in a fusion of mixed martial arts, and operates mostly by dodging his opponent's attacks whenever possible. His methods have been compared to kung fu and aikido, but there seems to be more to it than that.
Manipulation: Suo has a natural ability to convince others to do what he wants, often finding motivation that suggests doing what he wants is in their best interests as well.
